Article: Ferrari 458 Italia China Edition
Ferrari celebrates its Chinese 20th anniversary: Twenty years ago in the Middle Kingdom, the first Italo-powered car, a 348 TS, was delivered. To celebrate this event Ferrari is putting together a “Special Edition” of the 458 Italia. If you want to get yours hands on one though, you will have to be very fast as there will only be 20 units made, and they will only be sold in China. The new 458 Italia Special Edition will be painted in the exclusive color “Marco Polo Red”.
Dragon and Gold Rims
The most striking element of the 458 Italia Special Edition is a golden dragon on the front cover and gold and black stripes to symbolize a race track. The rims and the winglet are golden colored. Inside the head restraints are fitted with Chinese motifs and even the start button is not spared: Simplified Chinese characters form the word “Start”. A plaque with consecutive numbering from 1 to 20 in the center console also points to the exclusivity of the model. On the technology side of the car however, nothing will change. The Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by a 570 horsepower V8, with 540 Newton meters of torque. The 458 Italia normally starts from €194,000 ($US 255,000), but the cost of the Chinese edition is not yet known.
First Asian Exhibition
Not only is the “Dragon-Horse” part of the Ferrari anniversary in Asia, Ferrari also inaugurates in China, the first permanent Ferrari exhibition outside Italy. The exhibition will be in the Center of the Shanghai World Expo park and will be shown for the next three years and include interesting exhibits from the museum in Maranello.
